I indulged in some Quad Biking over the weekend. For those uninitiated, Quad Bikes are all-terrain vehicles (ATV), that travel on low pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control. As the name implies, it is designed to handle a wider variety of terrain than most other vehicles. Although it is a street-legal vehicle in some countries, it is not street legal within most countries including the UAE.
Fuckin’ terrorists are back again – this time they have again targeted the financial capital and the most diverse and cosmopolitan city in India – Mumbai. It’s my city and I am really saddened at what I have seen and heard since last night. Yet, the spirit of Mumbai lives on. The Mumbai metro is […]
…or rather against a train! Well, it all started with my Dad suggesting that we book a cab to the train station. We were to leave for Chennai (Madras) from Mumbai (Bombay) on 5th September 2008, by Dadar-Chennai Express. I was in India for a short trip and so thought it would be great to […]
The invitation read “Put on your dancing shoes and get a partner along”. It was a launch party invitation from PR agency Nettresults on behalf of Motorola. Motorola was launching its latest Rokr E38 music phone and so decided to throw the press a party at one of Dubai’s night clubs. The party was organised […]
Yesterday, I was waiting for a taxi outside my building to get to Deira City Centre. Me and a few friends were to meet at Cinestar to watch Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. About 45 minutes passed and no taxi yet. Old Pakistani Consulate area of Bur Dubai where I stay is known as an […]
Last year’s water-logging in Mumbai due to heavy rains had caused inconveniences to many working people in Mumbai. Some were stranded due to non-availability of transportation (trains were canceled due to water logging on train tracks), and other problems. This time, corporate India has come to the rescue to ensure that their employees don’t face […]
Beware talk of Dubai being home to the world’s biggest hotel. The recently expanded Venetian hotel in Las Vegas now offers 7,000 rooms – topping the 6,500 rooms at the planned Asia Asia in Dubailand. The Venetian’s new $2bn, 50-storey Palazzo extension adds two award-winning restaurant franchises and a nightclub run by Jay-Z. In total […]
OK. So, I reached eight hours late in Lisbon, Portugal and thought to myself that this much awaited trip was all screwed up! I was supposed to reach Lisbon at 8:00 am on 1st April 2008. Instead, I ended up missing my connecting flight to Lisbon at Paris, and so had to wait for eight […]
Am off to Lisbon, Portugal tonight, courtesy Epson. The company is launching a new range of printers and hence I have been invited on behalf of PC Magazine, a magazine I edit. I will be leaving tonight by Air France, with a stopover at Paris, France.
Reached Hannover yesterday, after a long 12 hour flight and a 25 minute stopover at Zurich. I was booked on Swiss Air and was given a business class ticket by Samsung, the sponsor of this trip. The flight was comfortable and the in-flight food was good, too. Since Samsung had some major announcements yesterday in […]
