Fuckin’ terrorists are back again – this time they have again targeted the financial capital and the most diverse and cosmopolitan city in India – Mumbai. It’s my city and I am really saddened at what I have seen and heard since last night. Yet, the spirit of Mumbai lives on. The Mumbai metro is functioning – all the lines are operational (Central, Western and Harbour), and people are back at work as if it were just another day.

Mumbai Meri Jaan

Yes, it’s not a matter to be surprised of. In fact, way back in 1993 when Mumbai was rocked by serial bomb blasts, people were back at their offices the next day. That’s the spirit of Mumbai am talking about. While we as Indians fight amongst ourselves for stupid reasons, in times such as these, we actually end up helping and taking care of each other.

I am damn sure that even if the world’s entire population of terrorists land up in Mumbai, they will still be unable to kill the spirit of Mumbai. As they say, “Abuse it, beat it, trample it, insult it, do the most dreadful things to it – but there is something about the spirit of Mumbai and the Mumbaikar. Take it all on and live it with the head held high. Come back fighting with no signs of defeat.”
